BINGO, CARD PARTIES

Bethlehem Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America will present Back to School Bingo from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 7 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown. The cost is $5 per person for unlimited bingo play with prizes and a salad lunch. Nachos and cheese will be $1.50 extra, and there will be a 50-50 raffle. Sign up at 330-788-8797.

CRAFT SHOWS

The youth of Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, are presenting a craft, car and motorcycle show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The original July 27 date was rained out. Registration is $8 in advance and $10 that day. There will be goodie bags and dash plaques for the first 100 participants and free T-shirts for the first 50 registered. A basket auction, door prizes, food, cornhole, 50-50 raffle and trophies also will be available. Entertainment will be by Blood Tree. For information visit www.bethelboardman.org.

St. Jude Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 16 at St. Jude Activity Center, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana. It will feature hand-crafted and homemade items, a baskets auction, bake sale, prize raffle and lunch counter with a varied menu. It is sponsored by St. Jude Women’s Guild. GARAGE, RUMMAGE, YARD SALES

Bread of Life Church, 702 Cameron Ave., Youngstown, is hosting a Family Fun Fest at noon Saturday. There will be barbecue, rummage and bake sales, music, singing, contests, games, prizes, bounce-a-round and more. There will be an outdoor movie at 8:30 p.m. For information call 330-272-5479.

Coitsville Presbyterian Church, 91 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, has closed and will have a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24. Items for sale are kitchen pots, service pieces, dishes and glass items. Also available are church school teaching tools, choral music, craft items and books, tables and bookshelves, silk flower arrangements and seasonal decorations.

Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel NW, Warren, will host its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Buck-a-bag sale will be the last hour of the sale on Saturday. Baked goods and a light lunch will be available for purchase each day. The proceeds will support the church’s food pantry, which serves more than 50 families in need each month. Good-as-new and gently used clothing, furniture, sporting goods, home decor, holiday items, collectibles, books and more will be available. The church has a handicapped-accessible entrance and restroom facility. Shirley Frazier, social concerns chairwoman, and Bonnie Mallory are the rummage sale co-chairwomen. PICNICS

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, is sponsoring a community picnic at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Food and beverages will be provided. All are welcome.

SALES

Junior Women’s League of Canfield is recruiting vendors for the 44th annual Fall Market on the Canfield Village Green scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21. Vendors may range from home-based businesses to arts and crafts merchandise to nonprofit organizations. Proceeds will benefit the community. For information call 330-506-4347.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Riverside Railroad Train Club will host a summer open house Aug. 16 at the Warren S.C.O.P.E. Center, 220 W. Market St. Trains will run outside from 4 to 8 p.m. For information call S.C.O.P.E. at 330-399-8846. The rain date will be Aug. 23. The donation is $3 and free for children under 12.

TRIPS

E.B. Family Life Center is planning a motor coach trip to the African World Festival, which will take place at Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, 315 E. Warren Ave. Detroit. Bus boarding will begin at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at the former Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 7 S. New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, is sponsoring an Amish Country bus trip to Berlin, Sugarcreek and Walnut Creek, Ohio, on Aug. 17. The bus will depart at 7 a.m. and will return at 8 p.m. at the parking lot of the Super Kmart in Niles. The cost is $65 per person and includes bus fare, breakfast buffet, family-style dinner, shopping, flea market and more. For information call 330-652-0705.
