City school board to meet Tuesday
The Youngstown city school board will meet in executive session at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Board Caucus Room at the I.L. Ward Building for an update on negotiations.
Patrol probes crash that left 2 injured
The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-car accident Sunday afternoon at Tippecanoe and Leffingwell roads that sent two people to the hospital.
The cause of the accident was undetermined Sunday night.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the patrol said. Their identities and genders were not released Sunday night.
The Boardman Township Fire Department and police, Canfield Fire Department and the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
Love and Protect Our Children
A Love and Protect Our Children and Let’s Move block party will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on East Federal Street in downtown Youngstown.Food, music, entertainment and games will be offered.

Work on I-680
From Wednesday evening through Saturday morning, Interstate 680 will have various nightly lane restrictions between South Avenue and Midlothian Boulevard for road repairs. Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The Westside Citizens Coalition is welcoming members and their neighbors to the organization’s annual picnic Aug. 13 at the Sholl Pavilion in Mill Creek Park at Bears Den Road and Normandy Drive. The picnic will begin at 5 p.m.
WCC will provide the entree, beverages, condiments and place settings. Guests are asked to provide a covered dish or dessert and bring lawn chairs.
