Music festival set as benefit for Haiti

Published: Fri, August 2, 2013 @ 4:52 a.m.

CANFIELD

St. Michael Parish and Nick Crescimanno of Boy Scout Troop 115 will sponsor a music festival fundraiser from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church, 350 N. Broad St.

The money raised will help to drill water wells for Haitian communities.

The event, dubbed Yell for the Well, will include food, kids’ games, a basket auction and live music for all ages.

Crescimanno is planning this event for his Eagle Scout project with the help of Food for the Poor, an organization that provides aid to South and Central American countries. If the goal of $5,300 is reached, Food for the Poor will double the funds to provide an additional water well.

For information on Food for the Poor and its mission, see its website at foodforthepoor.org or call Mary Griffin at 877-654-2960, ext. 6658.
