Youngstown Business and Professional Women recently celebrated Women’s History Month at the Upstairs Restaurant and Lounge on Mahoning Avenue.
Dr. Cynthia Anderson, president of Youngstown State University, was the guest speaker. As YSU’s first Mahoning Valley resident, first YSU graduate and first woman to lead the university, Dr. Anderson has made history and paved the way for women in the Youngstown area.
The evening included a business meeting and new member induction of Natalie Berry, Hospice account executive with Senior Independence, and Kim Deemer, customer service manager with American Church Inc.
YBPW is seeking additional professional women looking to advance their careers and increase their network. Its vision statement is the empowerment and advancement of women through education and information.
The club was established in 1920 and meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at various restaurants in Trumbull and Mahoning counties. For information contact Lisa Dickson at 330-509-9603.
