I -680 construction, restrictions to begin Monday

Published: Sat, April 13, 2013 @ 5:45 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

Starting Monday through mid-May, Interstate 680 northbound and southbound between Market Street and South Avenue will have daily restrictions for bridge painting and sealing, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.

All restrictions depend on weather and are part of a $4.5 million project to overlay six bridges on I-680 between U.S. Route 224 and South Avenue. The project is scheduled to be completed by late June.

On Tuesday, the Woodlawn Avenue entrance ramp to I-680 will be closed for maintenance from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. A detour will be posted.

Starting April 22, state Route 534 in Milton Township will be closed near Palmyra Road for 14 days as a culvert is replaced. The detour is U.S. 224 to state Route 225, to Interstate 76. The work is the beginning of a $165,000 project, which should be completed by September.
