The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program volunteers will help Mahoning County residents file income-tax returns at the Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership on Saturday.
Dubbed “Last Chance Saturday,” VITA volunteers will help with basic tax returns from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at MYCAP, 1325 Fifth Ave. Walk-ins are welcome from 10 a.m. to noon, and appointments only are from 1 to 3 p.m.
Mahoning County residents who had a gross income of $51,000 or less in 2012 are eligible to get their taxes done free. For information or to schedule an appointment, call 330-747-7921, ext. 1738.
Items people must bring: a photo ID; Social Security cards and birth dates for person filing, their spouse and dependents; wage and earning statements from all employers in 2012; interest and dividend statements from all financial institutions; copies of 2011 federal and state income-tax returns; bank-account routing number and account number for direct deposit; total amount paid for day care and the day-care provider’s tax identification number; and if filing a joint tax return, husband and wife must be present to sign the required forms.
