YSU to sponsor Women's football clinic

Youngstown State University football program will sponsor its fourth annual Women’s Football Coaching Clinic from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stambaugh Stadium and in the Watson And Tressel Training Site (WATTS) on the campus.

Cost to attend is $25 and all proceeds will be donated to The Purple Cat of Youngstown.

Registration will be from 5:30 to 6 p.m. with light refreshments in the DeBartolo Stadium Club. The staff will be introduced and there will be an equipment presentation.

Participants will then be given a tour of Stambaugh stadium before going to the WATTS.

In the WATTS, Shane Montgomery, offensive coordinator, will discuss the finer points of the Penguins’ offense. Joe Tresey, defensive coordinator, and members of the defensive staff will talk about schemes and strategy.

Participants will receive a gift bag and raffle prizes from local merchants will be awarded throughout the event.

The Purple Cat is a creative day program for adults with disabilities.

For information contact Dan Kopp, director of football operations, at dmkopp@ysu.edu or the football office at 330-941-3478.

Parking for the event will be in the F-7 lot north of the stadium.
