POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in Canfield city and Austintown:

CANFIELD

March 23

Drug abuse: Steven Kergan, 24, of 8131 Stadler Road, Boardman, was arrested on charges of drug abuse of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 5

Drug abuse: Sean Green, 23, of 19340 Bill Smith Road, Wellsville, was arrested on a charge of drug abuse. Police found 21/2 dosage units of methylin 20 mg.

AUSTINTOWN

April 1

Criminal trespassing: Trespassing was reported at Austintown Middle School, 800 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A debit card was accessed at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Breaking and entering: Copper pipe was taken from a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Was reported at a home in the 3000 block of Starwick Drive.

Theft: Several firearms were stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Burgett Road.

Criminal damaging: Damage to a window from projectiles was reported at a home in the 2000 block of Woodland Trace.

April 2

Theft: A purse with $200 cash, a cell phone and other miscellaneous items was stolen at Styx, 3680 S. Meridian Road.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges to an account were reported at a home in the 20 block of Kleber Avenue.

Burglary: Copper pipe, wiring, an air conditioning unit and a water meter were taken from a home in the 4000 block of Norquest Blvd.

Theft: A victim reported Vicodin was missing from a home in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

April 3

Disorderly conduct: Dennis Kitchen, 51, of 1481 Yolanda Drive, Youngstown, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

Warrant: Daniel Beanier, 27, of 27 Spring St., South Hadley, MA, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to an account at a home in the 20 block of Kleber Avenue.

Theft: A son is a suspect in a theft of checks and jewelry at a home in the 2000 block of Vollmer Drive.

Theft: A male subject stole a vacuum cleaner at Sears Service Center, 5760 Interstate Blvd.

Theft: A GPS was taken from an auto at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Warrant: Jean Venzeio, 46, of 233 Idlewood Road, was arrested on two warrants for failure to appear on theft charges.

Drug offense: Leo Cabot, 18, of 2685 Evelyn Road, Youngstown, was arrested on charges of drug abuse of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 5

Drug offense: Dwaine Thomas, 22, of 462 Fairgreen Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Theft: Tonya Bigelow, 23, of 4 Ross Drive, North Jackson, was issued a summons for shoplifting food at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Nathan Sarver, 21, of 2871 Tamarac Drive, Newton Falls, was charged with complicity and theft and Nicole Lamb, 20, of 10626 Gladstone Road, North Jackson, was charged with theft and complicity for allegedly stealing a $199 cell phone at Walmart.

Recovered property: A bicycle was recovered in the 1000 block of Idaho Road.

Warrant: Shon Yaksich, 39, of 962 Martin Luther King Blvd., was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a probation violation.

Drug offense: William Drummond, 27, of 204 B Drive, Warren, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.

Recovered property: A white iPhone was recovered at Walmart.

April 6

Theft: A driver had a wallet stolen by a female at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Assault: A male was assaulted by a female caretaker at Raccoon Road and Four Mile Run Road.

Criminal damaging: A car was scratched at a home in the 100 block Idlewood Road.

Disorderly conduct: Richard Edwards, 51, of 161 Rhoda Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

Theft: Numerous energy drinks were taken at Walgreens, 5501 Mahoning Ave.

April 7

Disorderly conduct: Nicholas Williams, 44, of 17 Wilma Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

Warrant: D’Nyce Johnson, 21, of 2025 29th St., Canton, was arrested on a warrant for obstructing official business, and for possession of marijuana, and Dwaylon Gibbs, 22, of 833 Marmion Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.

Criminal damaging: Rocks were thrown at an apartment window in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Breaking and entering: A rear door was forced open and copper was taken at a home in the 1000 block of Lancaster Drive.

Recovered property: Bones were located on Lanterman Road.

Drug offense: Jeffrey Melner, 18, of 4829 Pine Trace St., was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Fraud: An elderly male was scammed out of $375 at Walmart.

Theft: An iPhone was stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Staatz Drive.

Warrant: Frank Consiglio, 20,of 3900 Mercedes Place, No. 27, Canfield was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Theft: Two cellphones were taken at Sprint, 5625 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: David Garcia, 48, of 115 Ayers St., Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Warrant: Donald Phillips, 45, of 1055 S. Canfield-Niles Road, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for pretrial.
