AUCTIONS

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish is sponsoring a basket auction Sunday at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Doors open at 10 a.m., and the auction will be at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes haluski, a cupcake and one sheet of tickets. Beverages will be available. Additional food items will be sold.

CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Holy Apostles Parish, St. Stephen of Hungary Church, 954 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, will have a spring fling bingo and card party at 2 p.m. April 21 in the church social hall. The event is sponsored by the Altar & Rosary Society. Cost is $5 and includes lunch and door prizes. Tickets can be purchased at the door. There also will be a raffle and 50-50 drawing. St. Brendan Altar and Rosary Society will have a spring bingo and card party at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Maxwell Hall at St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown. Admission is $5 and includes lunch. For information call 330-799-2789 or 330-793-1882.

St. Patrick Altar Society will have its spring card and bingo social from 1 to 4 p.m. April 21 in the church hall, 367 N. Main St., Hubbard. Cost is $5. Table prizes, door prizes, a basket auction and 50-50 raffle will be available and a light lunch will be served.

FESTIVALS/FAIRS

Leetonia Artisans Festival Committee will begin registering exhibitors for the 28th annual Artisans Festival set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at Wick Park. Registration forms are available at www.leetonia.org. Contracts will be available for $40 for a 15x15-foot space for exhibitors and $50 per space for food vendors with a state-approved food license. The event includes free admission, parking and local entertainment. Deadline for registration is July 1. For information contact Daniel Morelli at 330-427-6741.

FUNDRAISERS

Diversified Family Services is sponsoring a reverse raffle fundraiser at 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Corinthian Banquet Room, downtown Sharon. Pink Ribbon Golf Classic will be July 15 at Squaw Creek–Avalon Golf & Country Club, 761 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Vienna. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. St. Patrick Church Youngstown/St. Vincent de Paul is sponsoring a Ladies Night Out. The theme is “Sophistication for You and Your Home” and will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, Canfield. The cost is $10. Ideas of interior decorating and gardening will be shared, and vendor displays and demonstrations will be available. Refreshments and appetizers will be served. For information call 330-702-0892.

NIGHTS AT RACES

Legacy Dog Rescue & For the Dogs Rescue Night at the Races will take place Friday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1024 Vienna Ave., Niles. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the first race at 7. Admission is $5. Advance ticket purchases will include five free basket auction tickets. Take 10 or more pounds of dog food to receive five auction tickets. There also will be a 50-50 raffle, and food and beer for sale. Tickets are available by calling 330-719-5569 or 330-310-2802.

SALES

Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau is sponsoring Springtime in Columbiana with a French Market that will take place in the parking lot of Grace Church on Main Street rain or shine. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3 and 4. There will be a variety of vendors. Booth spaces are limited and a minimum donation of $20 is requested. Eagles Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast and trunk sale May 4 at Highway Tabernacle Church, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to noon, and the trunk sale will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Single spaces are available for $20, and double spaces are $35. LaBrae Volleyball Boosters is hosting a Baby to Teens and What’s In-Between resale Saturday. The early bird entry fee is $5 at 9 a.m. Sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free. Mahoning County Junior Fair Board is sponsoring a trunk sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 1 at the Canfield Fairgrounds Junior Fair Area at the 4-H end of the fair. For $25 a covered area with an 8-foot table will be provided. All the money you make is yours to keep. No supplies will be provided. Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society will have its annual tuber sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until sold out Sunday at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park. Tubers in a variety of colors and sizes will be available from local award-winning dahlia growers. The society business meeting will be at 2 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENTS

New Bethel Baptist Church Hospitality Ministry is sponsoring a Spring Hat Extravaganza luncheon at noon April 27 at McMenamy’s Banquet Center, 325 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Cost is $20 per person, and the guest speaker will be Sister Lynn Phillips of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church. Wear your hats. Men are welcome. There will be vendors, door prizes and more. Happy Wanderers have seats available for an April 23 Ohio Amish Progressive Eating Experience Tour. Other tours this year include: Mark Lowry at Hartville Kitchen, May 30; Horseshoe Curve Express Tour, June 14; mystery tour, July 23; Chautauqua Belle Learning Tour, Aug. 8; NOAH, Sept. 13 and 14; Church Basement Ladies, A Second Helping, Oct. 11; and a Christmas Tour, Dec. 14. Mineral Ridge Alumni Association Banquet Committee is sponsoring a bus trip to Rivers Casino Thursday. Proceeds will help defray the cost of the June 22 alumni banquet, which will be at the Fifth Season Banquet Center in Mineral Ridge because of high school construction. Cost per person for the trip is $30 with bonuses of $15 for slots and $5 for food. Parking for the day and pickup will be at First Presbyterian Church, 3654 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge. Boarding will be at 8:30 a.m. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. and will return at approximately 5:30 or 5:45 p.m. Money must be prepaid. Make checks payable to Mineral Ridge Alumni Association, P.O. Trumbull County Travelers Club trips planned are: May 2, Berlin, Sugarcreek area for the Dutch tulips, lunch and a show plus time for shopping with a stop at Bleitenberg Winery and a chocolate house; May 16, Chillocothe for high tea at the Atwood House and a tour of the Adeana Mansion and gardens. A stop will be made at Grandpa’s Cheese Complex; Oct. 8-13, Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the Balloon Fiesta and Indian Culture Tour. Members will fly out of Pittsburgh with transportation to and from the airport included. Deposits of $250 are required to hold reservations. The club is open to the public.
