Grant-writing classes sponsored by Kent State University at Trumbull and Trumbull 100 are from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Technology Building Room 117 on the KSU-Trumbull Campus, 4314 Mahoning Ave. N.W.

Information in the workshops will primarily benefit non-profit organizations that qualify under IRS code 501(c)(3) to receive private foundation grants. The cost is $20, which includes lunch.

Preregistration is required. Call 330-675-8809.

This class covers the key components of developing a proposal for a foundation, and provides details about each major element included in every proposal. Attendees will also learn what is needed to create a budget for a special project and all the elements of a detailed budget; and will receive a free copy of “The Grantseeker’s Guide to Winning Proposals,” course handouts and worksheets.
