Sabrina Marshall hit two home runs and two singles and scored four runs for Boardman in a wild eight-inning contest. Katie Seeco added a triple and a single for the Spartans (0-2). Boardman stayed alive by scoring in the seventh to send the game into extra innings.
Mooney 10, Cleveland Hts. 3
Cleveland Hts. 17, Mooney 3
Angela Penza went the distance to earn the win and also had three hits, including a triple, and four RBIs to lead Mooney in the first game. Jami DeFabio had six hits and six RBIs in the doubleheader and Marche’ Venable had six hits and four RBIs. The Cardinals (1-1) committed eight errors in the second game, including six in Cleveland Heights’ 12-run second inning. CH is 2-1.
LaBrae 5, Hubbard 0
Jessica Buck’s three hits included a homer and double while Danielle Miracle had two hits for the Vikings. Winning pitcher Emily Dugan tossed a three-hitter. She walked one and struck out three batters.
North Ridgeville 3, Champion 2
A. Helmink’s seventh-inning single scored the winning run for North Ridgeville. Before that, Amber Ricci’s seventh-inning homer had given the Golden Flashes (1-2) a 2-1 lead. Ricci and Kenzie Goranitis doubled for Champion. Kayla Hunt (1-1) struck out seven and walked three. Winning pitcher K. Demarco (1-0) struck out nine and walked none for the Rangers (1-0).
Girard 12, Struthers 6
Carlie Byrne’s two-hitter included five strikeouts and eight walks and the freshman also had two doubles for Girard. Senior McKenzie Teter added two singles for the Indians (3-1).
Liberty 4, Brookfield 2
For the Warriors (1-1), Ashley Custer struck out six batters, Michaela Gauding doubled and Ciara Rotunno had two hits and drove in a run. The Leopards are 1-1.
Mineral Ridge 11, Campbell 0
Peyton Allen tripled and drove in four runs and Darby Kolesar and Kim Shilling combined on a two-hitter for Mineral Ridge (1-2). Kolesar also tripled and Allie Watkins hit a double and a single.
Lordstown 11, Lowellville 1
Junior catcher Ally Hajnosz had a single and a double for three RBIs for the Red Devils, who got their 11 runs on just four hits in the 41/2-inning game. Lowellville’s Kristen Kopnicky had a double.

Stevie Taylor’s fourth-inning homer produced the only run. Winning pitcher Carly DeRose struck out 17 and walked four. Jefferson is 12-2.

Alicia Swierz had six strikeouts during a five-inning, one-hitter for Southeast (1-0).

Winning pitcher Aleah Hughes (1-0) homered and doubled for the Bulldogs (2-0). Meredith Testa hit two doubles while Taylor Miokovic and Ally Deemer each had one.
