Liberty 19, East 1

Liberty 8, East 2


Tyler Evans hit three-run home runs in each game of a doubleheader to power the Leopards (2-0) to a sweep of the Panthers. Evans finished with five hits in the two games. Justin House also collected five hits for Liberty. The Leopards’ Lou Rivera had three hits in the first game and Nick Byce had three in the second game. East (0-2) got two hits from Mike Gregory in the second game.

Boardman 3, Lake 2


John Diamond singled to score Evan Croutch with the winning run in the eighth inning. For the Spartans (1-1, 1-1 Federal League), Eddie Crump had two hits and a RBI. Phil DiIanni drove in the other run. Winning pitcher Aaron Dill (1-0) scattered four hits in his seven innings on the mound. Reliever Jake Baun struck out two of the three batters he faced. For the Blue Streaks (3-2, 1-1), Kyle Crites had two hits.

Cardinal Mooney 3, North Royalton 2


Harrison Wagner and Ryan Megyesi both had two hits for Mooney (2-0), which was out-hit, 7-5. One of Wagner’s hits was a double. Mike Gatins had three hits for North Royalton (1-2).

Lakeview 1, Pymatuning Valley 0


Andrew Grove’s fielder’s choice scored Jerry Runyan with one out in the sixth inning. Winning pitcher David LeMasters tossed a two-hitter, striking out 16 and walking three for Lakeview (1-1). Evan Olbrych had two of the Bulldogs’ five hits. Dan Rhoades took the loss for Pymatuning Valley (0-1).

Marlington 13, Salem 8


The Quakers (1-3, 0-2 Northeastern Buckeye Conference) led 5-0 after three innings but yielded five runs in the fourth and seven in the sixth. Shaffer had four hits and four runs batted in for Salem and Schmied had three hits and three RBI.

Crestview 15, Lowellville 3


Ahead 6-3, Crestview (3-0) used a nine-run fourth inning to run-rule the Rockets. Michael McDonough gave up just one hit and fanned eight. Brandon Jayne drove in four runs and Andrew Batchelor and Austin Eskra had three RBI apiece.
