White House Fruit Farm hosted its annual White House Weekend March 16-17 to kick off the spring season. The event, which featured 12 vendors offering tastes of their products, is one the White House staff enjoys every year.
“We look forward to this event. We like to welcome back our customers from fall who sometimes forget we are open all year and have fresh products available all the time,” said Marcy McGuire, a seven-year White House employee.
The event featured local vendors from the Valley as well as around Ohio and Western Pennsylvania with a variety of products.
“We like to support local vendors. It is a chance for them to put any new products out there for people to taste. We feel it is important for our customers to be able to taste something before they buy it, so they know they really like it,” McGuire said.
Tamie and Taylor Sajewich, owners of From My Hands, To Your Heart, offered a taste of their homemade Italian biscotti in a variety of flavors to visitors.
“Our shop is right here in Canfield and we love having White House carrying our product. We are a family business and the recipe we use is my grandmother’s. Taylor and I do all the baking. We also offer gift baskets for all occasions in our gift shop,” Tamie said.
White House also uses the event to introduce its own new products, along with highlighting its favorites, such as in the bakery and produce departments.
