Today’s entertainment picks are:

v “Prelude to a Kiss” at 8 p.m.: Oakland Center for the Arts stages other performances of the romantic fantasy on Saturday and April 12, 13, 19 and 20. For tickets, call 330-746-0404.

v “Family Reunion” at 8 p.m.: Rust Belt Theater Company premieres the comedy at the Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Other shows will be Saturday and April 12 and 13. For reservations, call 330-507-2358.

v Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus at 7 p.m.: Gymnasts of the King Charles Troupe are featured in the show at the Covelli Centre, Youngstown. Tickets at the box office.

v “Below the Surface” at 7:30 p.m.: Victorian Players presents the premiere of the 1950s-era mystery. The show runs three weekends at Victorian Players Theater in Youngstown. For tickets, call 330-746-5455.

v“Broadway Musicals on Film:” Warren Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, will screen “West Side Story” at 11 a.m. and “Singin’ in the Rain” at 2 p.m.

“MICHAEL FEINEIN’S AMERICAN SONGBOOK” (9 p.m., PBS): The third season opener kicks off with a look back at classic Broadway musicals. Angela Lansbury guest stars.

“VICE” (11 p.m., HBO): This is a new weekly newsmagazine that chases down unusual stories all over the globe. Night 1 includes a report on how the Taliban recruits children to be suicide bombers.

‘Angry Tears’ filming in Valley

The movie “Angry Tears” will begin filming Saturday in the Mahoning Valley and continue Saturdays throughout April.

The movie, based on the novel “Who Will Wipe My Tears Away?” by Earlina Gilford Weaver, was previously staged as a play at Powers Auditorium.

David Walker of Walk Star Productions is director. The film, when finished, will premiere in the Valley.

Stambaugh youth band in concert

The Stambaugh Youth Concert Band will perform its annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Stambaugh Auditorium.

Featured will be soloist Alex Miller, 17, a senior at Lakeview High School.

The senior class of the Youth Band will be recognized, and one senior student will be presented with the Barbara Armstrong Memorial Scholarship. The performance will open with Jim Territo’s “Fanfare: 1 Chronicles 13:8,” and the band also will perform “Fantasia for Alto Saxophone” by Claude T. Smith featuring Miller.

The Stambaugh Youth Concert Band is made up of the top high school musicians from Northeast Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania. Membership in the organization is possible through auditions. The band is directed by John Veneskey, Dr. Brandt Payne, Tyler Husosky and Eric Bable. Tom Groth is executive director of the band.

Tickets are $5 and $2 for students and seniors with identification. Tickets available at the door or call 330-747-5175.
