Judge says embezzler Adair must remain jailed

A man who stole $1.3 million from a trucking company he co-founded has been denied judicial release from prison.

In a judgment entry filed Wednesday, Judge Lou A. D’Apolito overruled a motion for release filed by Scott Adair, 53, who pleaded guilty to embezzling from Southwind Transportation Inc.

Judge D’Apolito, of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, had sentenced Adair in August 2011 to four years in prison.

Adair sought his release from the Marion Correction Institution, saying he has been a “model prisoner” with no prior criminal record and that members of his family would benefit from his release.

Saying Adair “plundered a company to satisfy his personal greed,” causing its bankruptcy and unemployment for its workers, an assistant county prosecutor opposed Adair’s release.

He just wants out to dig up the money he hid before they closed in on him and his wife... His talent led him to where he is at today... He and his wife were a bunch of snobs... Thought they were better than everyone else... If he needed more money why didnt he get a second job instead of stealing and effecting so many other peoples lives... He needs to stay where he is at... To many times white collar crimes do not get the right amount of prison time for what they did...

Just think when he gets out... they both can be talented people and pay everyone back.... The first one to collect will be the IRS from Tax Evasion..and then no one else will get a dime.... so let him sit and cool his heals.... "Do the Crime.. Do the Time" have a good day... see you soon...

how can he pay everyone back not alone the simple 1.3 million dollars... if he makes 30 dollars an hour.. and you give him a double wide to live in... he would never be able to pay back that money or make restition to the others he affected with his actions... most people will never make 1 million dollars in their lifetime.. not alone support themselves and payback 1 million dollars... this give him ample time to sit and think.... who do you really think will hire him when he gets out of prison... have a good day
