Despite the cold weather, the Easter Bunny drew a big crowd to the Cornersburg Dairy Queen March 24, during which kids could pet live bunnies, color eggs the “DQ” way, meet Curly the Cone and visit the Easter Bunny.

At each station, children received a candy-filled egg or possibly an egg with a winning ticket. Winners could redeem their winning ticket for one of 25 Easter baskets provided given away throughout the day.

Children could color ‘eggs,’ which involved an ice cream cupcake in a cup with an Easter egg drawn on it. The children could use icing, gel and sprinkles to decorate their ‘egg’ with as much, or as little, creativity as they wanted.

“This is my favorite event. It’s fun and we want to get people excited about Dairy Queen for spring and summer. Our goal is to get the taste of Dairy Queen in people’s mouths for summer,” said Chrissy Smith, owner of Cornersburg and Austintown Dairy Queen.

Jen Rogers, a Dairy Queen employee, brought her live bunnies for everyone to enjoy. Several of the bunnies were in large Easter baskets, which made them easily accessible to see and pet.

Attendees braved the cold air and lined up to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny outside the front of the store.
