No alcohol found in teens who died in high speed Warren crash
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says none of the eight teens in a March 10 traffic crash had alcohol in their systems the morning of the mishap. Six of them died.
The patrol, at a news conference Thursday, said toxicology results for drugs are incomplete for four of the eight occupants. But the four others had no drugs in their systems.
The teens had been various places during the night: some staying over at a friends house, and some at a “bootleg” party where alcohol was served.
Alexis Cayson, 19, was the driver of the SUV and had been joyriding, driving various people around Warren, starting around 11:30 p.m. March 9, said Lt. Brian Holt of the patrol.
Holt said the vehicle was traveling between 62 and 70 mph in a 35 mph zone when it struck a guardrail and flipped into a pond on Niles-Warren River Road. Six drowned and two escaped.
