Coroner says children suffered devastating injuries

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Coroner’s office has released the names of two children killed in a devastating automobile accident on Interstate 76 this morning.

Pedro Crumpton, 7, and his 2-year-old sister Paris Crumpton were both ejected from a Chevrolet Trailblazer that crossed the median and hit a semi just before 8 a.m. The coroner’s office said both children died instantly from “devastating” injuries.

The mother of the children, Shakia Crumpton, was also ejected from the vehicle. She, along with the father of the children, Rashon Crumpton, are in St. Elizabeth Health Center in critical condition.

The coroner’s report says the family was returning to its home in Glendale New York after visiting family members in Columbus.

The accident remains under investigation.
