Autopsies show Ohio couple suffered head trauma
NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio (AP) — A medical examiner’s office in northeast Ohio says a prominent attorney and his wife died of blunt impact to the head in what is being investigated as a double homicide.
The cause of death was released today after autopsies were completed for 56-year-old Jeffrey Schobert and his 59-year-old wife, Margaret. Their bodies were found by construction workers in their home Tuesday in New Franklin, south of Akron.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports authorities are investigating whether the violent assault of the Schoberts’ teenage daughter two weeks ago could be related to the slayings. A 24-year-old man was jailed in that attack, and police say he is not a suspect in the slayings.
Jeffrey Schobert was a prominent attorney. His wife was active in charities in the area.
