Munroe gets full term on racing commission

Gov. John Kasich reappointed Mark Munroe, the Mahoning County Republican Party chairman, to another term on the Ohio State Racing Commission.

Munroe of Boardman, 62, was initially appointed by Kasich, a fellow Republican, on Dec. 5, 2011, to fill out the remainder of an unexpired term. Kasich selected Munroe on Tuesday to a full four-year term that expires March 31, 2017.

Munroe, executive vice president of a marketing and video production firm, is paid about $3,500 annually plus travel expenses to serve on the horse racing commission.
