4-year-old East Side boy in critical condition with gunshot wound

Published: Fri, September 21, 2012 @ 1:39 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — A 4-year-old boy is in critical, but stable condition this afternoon in St. Elizabeth Health Center with a gunshot wound to the head after police said they believe the gun accidentally discharged while the boy was in bed on the city’s East Side.

The boy, Tristian Jackson, suffered the wound in an apartment in the 600 block of Kendis Circle at 7:35 a.m. today.

A woman in the apartment heard a gunshot, found Tristian crying with blood on him, and drove him to the hospital in a private car.

At the hospital, police observed the boy talking and crying, with a bloody and swollen right cheek.

Kendis Circle another one of those bastions of liberalism and Obamaism. No work, just lay back and collect that government hand out every month. Steal a gun, and shoot up an apartment and a 4 year old gets hurt. Wow, what a way of life. Get off your dead rear ends and start contributing to society in a positive way.

Maybe, just maybe, if they'd throw the book at the thugs and gang-bangers the FIRST time they're arrested, there wouldn't be so many criminals who don't fear any punishment, because they know they'll just get a slap on the wrist.

Georgejeanie first of all get your facts straight - this was going on before Obama even came into office. Might just want to check your facts before flapping your chops. It is sad that an innocent child had to fall pray to this violence. Let's just hope for the best for the child and move on because the court system in Ytown sucks and has always sucked.

Ladytaz, I thot 4/sure this had to Obama's fault. He said he was going to "change" the way things were being done, but obviously this is one thing he has not changed. Seems like this might be one of the things he should have changed.

Youngstown isn't the only city in the great ole U.S.of A that has thugs, drugs and zeros. It's everywhere. No place is immune.

Anyway, the Father should be charged for endangering a child. He should get the book thrown at him. If you have kids and have a gun or guns in the house, keep them out of reach of children! It's not rocket science!
