As usual, Bengals beat Browns in NFL battle of Ohio

Associated Press

CINCINNATI

Not even a breakout game by Cleveland’s rookie playmakers could change the outcome of Ohio’s intrastate series.

Adam “Pacman” Jones returned Cleveland’s first punt 81 yards for a touchdown Sunday, and Andy Dalton matched his career high with three touchdown passes, leading the Cincinnati Bengals to a 34-27 victory in their one-sided rivalry.

The Bengals (1-1) have won 13 of the past 16 against the Browns (0-2), who got breakout performances from their rookie quarterback and running back but still couldn’t get a win.

It was CLOSE. Oh yeah, another MORAL victory. The last time I checked, they don't count those in the "win" column.

"GET 'Em NEXT YEAR!!"

Maybe Cleveland will pick first in the next draft. Go Steelers.

Their offense has improved. Weeden threw for 322 yards and no interceptions, while Richardson ran for 109 yards. Those are good numbers, but unfortunately their defense and special teams could not stop Cinci when they needed to. After a brilliant defense last week against Philadelphia, they could not repeat it against Cincinnati.

This certainly follows patterns from the past. We can only hope that they shake it off and begin playing as a team. Possibly this could help ... listen to the classic song by The Supremes..."Someday, we'll be together." Maybe they can make it a team fight song.

Baby steps...we'll have to wait a while longer before singing "Bohemian Rapsody" by Queen...you know the one..."We will, we will Rock You" aka "We are the champions...of the world."

Weeden and Richardson looked fantastic. The team just needs some time to put it all together.
