BERLIN CENTER

Tim Cooper rushed for 155 yards and scored a touchdown for Western Reserve (1-3, 1-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier Two). Dan Zilke rushed for 102 yards and scored two touchdowns. His scoring runs covered 2 and 9 yards.

For McDonald (1-3, 0-1), Cameron Ifft scored touchdowns on runs of 10 and 2 yards.

PJ Mansky rushed nine times for 51 yards while Christian Rusinowski completed 9 of 14 passes for 141 yards. One was a 21-yard scoring toss to Cody Colburn.

BEAVER Township

Ross Stoffer and Robbie Seman hooked up for three passing touchdowns of 33, 42 and 67 yards for South Range (2-2, 1-0 ITCL1). Seaman had five catches for 189 yards and Stoffer finished with 213 passing yards on 7 of 18 completions.

Jake Arsuffi and Bryce Allen had 42 and 32 rushing yards, respectively. Joe Alessi ran for a 42-yard TD and Adam Whitmer returned an interception 30 yards for a score.

Luke Cope led East Palestine (0-4, 0-1) with 121 rushing yards. Austen Reiser caught two passes for 29 yards.

Mineral Ridge 53, Jackson-Milton 13

Casey Porter ran for 190 yards and three touchdowns while Devine Redding had 101 yards and three TDs to lead Mineral Ridge. Luke Bukovina caught a TD pass and Josh Detwiler returned a fumble for a TD for the Rams (1-2).

Tyler Shaffer ran for 102 yards and scored a TD while Joe Burnside scored the other touchdown for the Bluejays (0-4).

Columbiana 48, Wellsville 0

Leetonia 17, Lowellville 10

Lowellville

Geno Moore rushed for a 73-yard touchdown and finished with 106 yards on 11 carries for Lowellville (0-4, 0-1 ITCL2).

Seth Stevens had 22 carries for 117 yards and Robert Ciccone had 21 yards on six carries. Jake Maszczak kicked a 27-yard field goal to put the Rockets up 3-0 late in the second quarter.

Canfield 28, Beaver Local 20

LISBON

A 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Nick Annicheenni got the Cardinals started and they rolled up 257 yards on the ground to win the All-American Conference American Division opener.

Annichenni also scored in the third quarter on a 4-yard run. Conner Kesner added a 30-yard scoring run and quarterback Kimu Kim connected with Kyle Nagy on a 66-yard scoring play.

Kesner gained 76 yards and Annichenni 69 for Canfield (2-2, 1-0). Kim completed seven of 11 passes for 135 yards.

Beaver Local (1-3, 0-1) was paced by quarterback Austin Brooks who threw for 132 yards including scoring tosses of 35 and 16 yards to Justin Osbourne.

Campbell 20, Jefferson 14

JEFFERSON

Brandon Reyes connected with D.J. Harrison on a 70-yard scoring play with 6:22 remaining as Campbell handed Jefferson its first loss in the AAC National opener. The touchdown came one play after Jayle’ll Shorter intercepted a pass for the Red Devils (2-2, 1-0). Adrien Brown led Campbell with 135 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and Reyes was 11 of 17 passing for 190 yards and a touchdown.

Lakeview 21, Champion 7

CORTLAND

Two third-quarter touchdowns broke open a close game. The Bulldogs (2-2, 1-0 AACN) got short scoring runs from Erich Schmitt and Evan McCollum to break a 7-7 halftime tie. Elijah Henderson scored early for Lakeview and Jacob Rasey countered with a scoring run for the Golden Flashes (1-3, 0-1).

McCollum finished with 100 yards rushing for Lakeview and Henderson ran for 97. Schmitt connected on nine of 14 pass attempts for 79 yards.

Newton Falls 27, Girard 13

NEWTON FALLS

The Tigers (1-3, 1-0 AACN) broke a 14-14 tie late in the third quarter. Quarterback Brandon Fuller raced 39 yards for his second touchdown. He also connected with Derek Walton on a touchdown pass. Chris Gregory scored the clinching touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Girard (0-4, 0-1) got TD runs from Jordan Graziano and James Cupan who totalled 110 yards on the ground. Gregory gained 110 for the Tigers and Fuller added 100 yards.

Liberty 25, LaBrae 20

LEAVITTSBURG

John Helms had a 12-yard touchdown run as time expired for Liberty (3-1, 1-0 AACN). Helms had four rushes for 28 yards and caught five passes for 31 yards. Sherron Walls carried 31 times for 162 yards. Asim Pleas threw for 85 yards on 9 of 16 completions. LaBrae (0-4) was led by Carl Brown’s 72 rushing yards.

Akron Ellet 23, East 13

AKRON

Derrick Tensley had two long scoring runs as part of a 184-yard night for the Panthers (1-3). Tensley put East ahead early with a 41-yard touchdown and his 80-yard run brought the Panthers within 14-13 in the third quarter. Ellet (2-2) scored a touchdown and a safety in the final quarter to clinch the victory.

Zanesville 31, Ursuline 24

ZANESVILLE

Zanesville QB Thomas Wibbeler completed 26 of 33 passes for 386 yards and five touchdowns, including three in the fourth quarter, as the Blue Devils outscored the Irish 19-0 in the final 12 minutes.

McFarland’s last TD, a 28-yarder to J.T. McFarland, came with 2:16 left and Zanesville (4-0) leading by 1. The Blue Devils missed the extra point.

Ursuline QB Chris Durkin led the Irish (3-1) with 83 yards rushing and a TD and 78 yards passing. Tramain Thigpen rushed for 87 yards and recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD. Jermaine Williams had Ursuline’s other TD, a 2-yard run late in the first quarter.

Mathews 39, Western Reserve Acad. 32

VIENNA

Mathews successfully executed the hook-and-ladder play for a game-winning 64-yard touchdown with 16 seconds remaining to earn its first win. Western Reserve Academy (1-3) took a 32-31 lead with 50 seconds left before the Mustangs worked their magic. Alex Bagaglia connected with receiver Wyatt Ford 10 yards down the field and Ford latarelled to Evan Glancy who went the distance.

Glancy ran 42 times for 312 yards and two touchdowns, Austin Arnal added 101 yards on the ground and another score for Mathews and Bagaglia ran for two short touchdowns.

NOrtheastern Buckeye Conference

West Branch 51, Alliance 34

With the Warriors leading just 17-14 at halftime, West Branch’s Brenden Wells returned the opening kickoff of the second half 90 yards for a touchdown and added two running touchdowns over the next eight minutes to break the game open.

Wells finished with 24 carries for 191 yards and two TDs for West Branch (1-3, 1-1). Wells also had a 70-yard kickoff return for a TD midway through the fourth quarter and Brandon Woolf added an 85-yard kickoff return for a score late in the first quarter. Troy James completed 7 of 11 passes for 60 yards and a TD.

Kordelle Phillips completed 19 of 28 passes for 295 yards and two TDs to lead Alliance (0-3).

Carrollton 42, Salem 6

SALEM

Trace Jenkins hit Brooks Bezon for a 27-yard touchdown in the closing minutes for Salem’s only score. Jake Carner caught five passes for 90 yards and Brendan Webb caught seven passes for 52 yards. Jenkins had 262 passing yards for the Quakers (0-4).
