Feeling good isn’t a good goal

Feeling good isn’t a good goal

I’m writing this letter at three o’clock. The hour of Jesus’ crucifixion and His life-giving mercy. Did it “feel” good to save the lives of us sinners? Painful it was.

Liberal theology is the religion of “feeling good.” Why are politicians telling women who have been raped to abort their baby conceived in pain? Isn’t it so that supposedly the women will “feel good?”

I don’t want to go to church to “feel good” but rather to repent of sin and to thank God for His mercy.

Why are black Baptists going to vote Democrat? Why are older generation Catholics voting Democrat? It doesn’t “feel good” to “defeat evil” by voting Republican. What would Jesus say to that?

Unfortunately, America has become a secular society and have gotten away from the ideals of our founding Fathers. This election will be the "turning point" for our country. Do we support the DEMOCRAT platform which originally took GOD out of their platform or do we return to the American values and vision?
May God bless America with the right decision on Nov. 6th.

I'm sure the Vindy does not approve of foul language or name calling on this message board. If you have something to write, make your point - if someone disagrees, then answer them. Does that make sense? Answer me.

I'm always baffled that people refer to the founding father's faith as a tool to advance their own religious views. The founders each had a vast array of religious ideas and faiths. Most of them didn't agree with each others, but they all believed that people (men/mankind) were dignified glorious creations whom their Creator granted the liberty to believe whatever they chose. That faith is a far cry from most of today's religious faiths which jump at every chance to tell people they are worthless junk.

@vinytalk
It must have got stuck. Or the Vindicator thought it was so spot on that it needed to be published twice.

I'm sorry, but if you are going to write a letter to the editor, at least put some coherent thought behind it. I'll point out the ramblings of a lunatic all day long.

There is a writer here who is the most mean-spirited viper I have ever encountered. To compare a bicycle to Sandra Fluke and then say 'everyone gets a ride' is nothing less than filth. Look up the Facebook images on this person's page. Pure evil. And that is the type of person who votes for someone like Romney and Ryan. Count me out.

Maybe Jesus didn't say anything about abortion, but did you know that destroying one eagle egg is punishable by a $250,000 fine or 2 yrs in prison. Regarding an unborn baby, it's not only legal to kill her, or him, but Obama is forcing taxpayers to pay for the execution.

Hey Education, here's a good one for you!
A professor in Florida is under fire today after forcing her students to sign a pledge to vote for Barack Obama and Democrats. Oliver Darcy over at Campus Reform has more:
A college professor has been placed on leave after she allegedly forced her class to sign a pledge to vote for President Obama in the upcoming elections.

Early last week Professor Sharon Sweet at Brevard Community College (BCC) allegedly told students to sign a pledge that reads: “I pledge to vote for President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket.”

University administrators said they learned about the incident late Thursday afternoon and launched an investigation, after they received a phone call from a concerned parent.

“Based on the allegations, Associate Professor Sweet has requested, and been granted, a leave of absence without pay effective immediately,” reads a statement put out by John Glisch, Associate Vice President for Communications at BCC.

“The college will continue its investigation into the matter, which will include interviews with all students in her class,” continues the statement.

Sweet’s actions may have also violated Florida’s election laws.
The pledge was printed by Sweet from GottaVote.org, a voter registration website paid for by the Obama campaign. I'm pretty certain Ms. Sweet failed to tell her students that 50 percent of recent college graduates can't find a job and that they'll most likely have to move back in with their parents after school as a result.
