Seasonal flu shots offered in Niles
The City of Niles Health Department is offering seasonal flu shots at the Niles SCOPE Senior Center, 14 E. State St., on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.
The shots are by appointment only. Call 330-544-3676 .
Recipients must bring their Medicaid, Medicare or Anthem Senior Advantage Card.
For all others, the cost is $20.
Mobile Pantry to distribute food
Second Harvest Food Bank’s first Mobile Pantry food distribution is today from 10 a.m. to noon at Fellowship of the Beloved, 13696 Bethesda Road.
Distributions will continue the second Thursday of each month at the same location and time.
Recipients will receive a prepackaged box of nonperishable food items, and should bring photo identification.
The Mobile Pantry delivers food to people in the Mahoning Valley who may not have access or transportation to an established Food Bank member agency.
Second Harvest also operates Mobile Pantry programs in Lake Milton and Goshen Township in Mahoning County and Bristol and Mecca townships in Trumbull County.

A free seminar on Medicaid Resource and Income Rules for Nursing Home and PASSPORT will be offered by the Alzheimer’s Assistance and Referral Network on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Boardman Public Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave.
Attorney Robert Rusu, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, is the speaker.
Handouts will be provided.

Farmers market in lobby at St. E’s
A farmers market, sponsored by the Lake-to-River Food Cooperative, will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Health Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., in the main lobby off Park Avenue.
The market is open to the general public.
Event to raise money for NAMI Walk 2012
The Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board is hosting an event Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chuck E. Cheese’s, 2082 Niles-Cortland Road, Warren, to raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness of the Mahoning Valley’s NAMI Walk 2012 on Sept. 30.
Restaurant customers will receive 10 free tokens with any food purchase and have an opportunity to take part in a skeeball tournament; and the restaurant will donate 15 percent of all purchases, including tokens, food and merchandise, to the NAMI Walk.
Money raised remains in the Mahoning Valley to provide free support groups and education programs and services.
