YOUNGSTOWN — The city man convicted of knocking a female Youngstown police officer down with a blow to the face will spend the next 10 years in prison.
Shawn Green, 36, of East Florida Ave., was convicted in July of assaulting Officer Bridget Quinn at a bar on South Avenue earlier this year. A jury of five men and seven women spent about two hours deliberating before finding Green guilty of felonious assault, assault, cocaine possession and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
Green appeared today before Judge James Evans of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for sentencing.
Jennifer McLaughlin, an assistant county prosecutor, recommended the 10-year sentence for Green, citing his past criminal record and what she described as a total lack of respect for law enforcement. Green has been arrested in the past for carrying concealed weapons and drug possession.

I hope Officer Bridget Quinn never commits even the smallest of infractions, because if she does, the commenters on Vindy.com who talk badly about police officers but would be too scared to ever become an officer, would blow it out of proportion.

Are you for real?? EVERY case is different. You can't ever compare 2 cases whatsoever. The judges, lawyers, prosecutors, juries, plea bargains, past history, and on and on and on and on, factor into each individual case and crime. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. smh at such stupidity in society today.

Do you have any more with a 6 year sentence? I only see that one. And that is the one case the cockroach got 6 years which is totally uncalled for, but don't go saying it's routine for murderers to get 6 years in Youngstown just because one filthy slime did.

I'm aware of what the length of sentence was in my examples. I'm not wasting my time on here. Those were the top three that pop into Google when you search. If you want proof of others, look them up for yourself, I know they are there. You think 10, 13, and 6 years are sufficient for murder? 10 years for a sucker punch. No wonder this area is a cesspool.
