POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Aug. 9

Warrant: Lucius Coleman, 19, of 1500 Russell Drive, Streetsboro, was arrested on a warrant from Canfield Mayor’s Court for failure to appear on a charge of soliciting without a permit.

Aug. 29

Theft: A debit card was reported stolen at a home in the 200 block of Carriage Lane and used at a gas station.

Computer hacking: Representatives from the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 Palmyra Road, reported to police that an unauthorized wire transfer to Ukraine was attempted from the school’s bank account, and an excessive amount of spam was sent to the school computer afterward from various countries. The transfer was stopped, and employees were warned that the school’s computer had been hacked and to change their bank accounts.

Sept. 4

Drug abuse: Douglas Clute, 54, of 18 Edgewood Drive, Medina, N.Y., was arrested on charges of drug abuse of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 3

Recovered property: Two mountain bikes were recovered at Nottingham Road and Brockton Drive.

Breaking and entering: A safe was taken from Los Gallos, 920 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A lawn mower was stolen at a home in the 5000 block of East Viola Drive.

Theft: Cash was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of East Radio Road.

Burglary: A large amount of currency was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Sept. 4

Recovered property: A stolen vehicle was recovered at apartments in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to an account at PNC Bank, 4949 Mahoning Ave.

Menacing: Threats from a former employee were received at McDonald’s, 1709 S. Raccoon Road.

Breaking and entering: Barry Dyngles, 1601 S. Raccoon Road was entered, and $1,200 in cash was stolen.

Theft: A front license plate was stolen from an auto at a home in the 1000 block of North Four Mile Run Road.

Criminal damaging: A hole was punched in a wall at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Breaking and entering: Two bicycles, two bicycle frames, several bicycle rims and vehicle rims were stolen from a shed at a home in the 4000 block of Woodleigh Lane.

Burglary: Nothing was taken in a burglary at a home in the 3000 block of Burkey Road.

Disorderly conduct: Alex Otero, 29, of 40 N. Roanoke Ave., was issued a summons for disorderly conduct at the Voodoo Lounge, 4700 Mahoning Ave.

Sept. 5

Domestic violence: Damon James, 42, of 942 Kirwan Drive, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence.

Breaking and entering: A west door was forced open at PC Doctor, 3710 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Roof shingles were damaged at a home in the 5000 block of Baylor Ave.

Assault: A 16-year-old male was assaulted at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Fitch Blvd.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported at a home in the 4000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Vandalism: Windows were broken at Davis Elementary School, 4302 Maple Ave.

Sept. 6

Breaking and entering: A bicycle was taken from a shed at a home in the 4000 block of Woodleigh Court.

Assault: A male was assaulted by the husband of his girlfriend at a home in the 90 block of North Beverly Avenue.

Theft: Samantha Manda, 32, of 30 Victoria Ave., Niles, was arrested on a charge of taking a candle and a stuffed animal at Hallmark, 5880 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A cellphone stolen in August was recovered at Austintown Fitch High School.

Breaking and entering: A shed was entered and garden tools were stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Black Oak Lane.

Theft: Medication was stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Theft: A bike was stolen at Austintown Fitch High School.

Sept. 7

Theft: An iPod was stolen from an auto after a window was broken out of the vehicle at Casal’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Deborah Thompson, 60, of 4114 Claridge Drive was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court.

Theft: A man took an unknown amount of electronics at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: A male was punched in the face by another male at Chipper’s Sports Bar, 5 N. Edgehill Ave.

Sept. 8

Disorderly conduct: Emery McRoberts,28, of 536 Redondo Drive, Youngstown was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

Drug offense: Sarah Bowman, 22, of 833 Ohio Ave., Youngstown was issued summonses for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a credit card at a home in the 4000 block of Pinegrove Avenue.

Fraud: A cable bill was accessed fraudulently at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Lost or stolen property: A wallet was lost or stolen at Walmart.

Drug offense: Guy Ague, 22, of 3855 Frederick St. was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.

Telecommunications harassment: Numerous calls were reported at a home in the 1000 block of Old Farm Trail.

Theft: Tiffani Kohut, 28, of 3233 Quentin Drive, Youngstown, was arrested for theft of deodorant and makeup totaling $28.98 at Walmart.

Drug offense: Dakota Gonatas, 19, of 4418 Sheridan Road, Youngstown was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.

Sept. 9

Theft: A watch was taken from the Comfort Inn, 5425 Clarkins Drive.

Warrant: William Brown, 30,of 962 Martin Luther King Blvd., Youngstown was arrested on a warrant for theft.

Warrant: Robert Jarrell, 34, of 660 N. Four Mile Run Road was arrested on a warrant for possession of drug instruments.
