YOUNGSTOWN — The man charged with killing an 8-year-old boy when shooting into an occupied East Side home was arraigned today on capital murder charges in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Shawn Ramone Wilson, 21, appeared with his court-appointed attorney Ronald Yarwood. He is charged with killing Bryce Linebaugh as the youngster slept in a bunk bed at his home in the Rockford Village housing development.
Wilson is charged with aggravated murder of a child under 13, felonious assault, murder, tampering with evidence and improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
Wilson remains in the county jail on a $5 million bond. The case has been assigned to the courtroom of Judge R. Scott Krichbaum.
Wilson was scheduled for a probation-violation hearing today before Judge Lou A. D’Apolito, however that hearing was postponed in light of the arraignment.
Wilson had been convicted of improperly handling a firearm in 2009. Earlier this year, he was charged with violating his probation in that case.
