Informational dialysis luncheon
Bread of Life Church of God in Christ, 702 Cameron Ave., will host a health informational luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22.

Flu and pneumonia shot clinic
GROVE CITY, PA.
The Mercer County Pandemic Committee, which oversees free flu and pneumonia shot clinics for persons 18 and over at three locations on Oct. 13, is seeking clinical and non-clinical volunteers to work that day. Interested persons may contact Dyana Thompson at 724-662-1550, ext. 162.
The clinics will be at Grove City Middle School, 100 Middle School Drive, Grove City; Greenville Area High School, 9 Donation Road, Greenville, Pa.; and Artman Elementary School, 411 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, Pa.
The clinics, cosponsored by the Community Health Partnership of Mercer County and the Mercer County Area Agency on Aging, will be open from 9 a.m. to noon, but could close early if shots are exhausted before the scheduled closing time. Antlers & Anglers at Boardman Park
Boardman Subaru is sponsoring the Armstrong Antlers & Anglers event at Boardman Park’s Lariccia Family Community Center on Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item, and all proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
Last year, Antlers & Anglers raised almost $2,000 and more than 700 pounds of food for Second Harvest. Sponsored in partnership with Boardman Park, Antlers & Anglers features a 2,500 gallon fishing pond, archery, simulated duck hunting, live animal exhibits, petting zoo, wagon rides, animal mounts, watercraft and guided nature walks.

The second annual Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation (ERKF) Kidney Walk will be Sept. 30 at the Canfield Fairgrounds starting at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
Open to the public, patients and their families, or anyone wanting to support the cause, participants can walk as individuals or form teams. An event T-shirt will be given to participants who raise at least $25 in pledges and are registered by Sept. 22.

Akron Children’s open house
Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics in Warren will have an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 27 to celebrate its expansion and opening of a new location.
Akron Children’s President & CEO William Considine will make a presentation at the event at 5:30 p.m. The new address will be The Market Place, 5000 E. Market St., Warren.
The Warren office is one of 20 pediatric primary-care offices owned and operated by Akron Children’s Hospital. A second location in the Mahoning Valley is in Boardman on the hospital’s Beeghly campus.
