BAZAARS

Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, 626 Plain Grove Road, Slippery Rock, Pa., will have a fall bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 15. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 2. There will be a yard, craft and bake sale. Proceeds will benefit a community emergency fund and youth programs.

CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Bethlehem Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America will host bingo day from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd. Cost is $5 per person for unlimited bingo with prizes. There will be a salad bar and 50-50 raffle. RSVP to Carolyn Arnold, president, at 330-788-8797.

St. Joseph the Provider Church Hall will be the site of a bingo and card party at 2 p.m. Sunday sponsored by Infant Jesus of Prague Guild and Christ the Good Shepherd Parish. Refreshments, prizes and a light lunch will be provided. A donation of $5 is requested. For information call 330-755-0266.

CRAFT SHOWS

Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, is seeking crafters and vendors for its 11th annual craft show planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 20. The cost is $20 per 8-foot table. The show will be advertised. For information call 330-856-2597 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Shepherd of the Valley, 301 W. Western Reserve Road, Poland, is sponsoring a family fall festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 22. Outdoor activities will include horse-carriage rides, a bounce-around, face painting, carnival games, music, concessions, a bake sale, auctions, prizes and more. DANCES

Just Got to Dance Dance Club is sponsoring a dance Saturday at the main hall of the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave. A tango dance lesson will begin at 7 p.m., and dancing will follow until 11. Fee for members is $5, and nonmembers pay $10. No dance experience necessary. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

FESTIVALS/FAIRS

27th annual Hungarian Heritage Day will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Youngstown American Hungarian Club clubhouse, 2219 Donald Ave. Featured will be Hungarian Folk Art, music by the Hungarians of Cleveland and food, featuring Hungarian goulash, stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers, chicken dinner, haluski, kolbasi and sauerkraut and pastries, including crepes and dobos torta, a nine-layer torte. Hungarian items for sale will feature preserves, spices, noodles, clothing, books, cards and more. Admission is $3.

FLEA MARKETS

Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, will have an outdoor flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be 23 vendors, and food will be available. Money raised at the church booth and from table rentals will be used for the Christian Education programs of the church. In case of rain, it will be indoors. FUNDRAISERS

St. Vincent de Paul Society of Mahoning County and Knights of Columbus Bishop Fenwick Council 13586 are having a steak fry from 2 to 8 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Byzantine Center, Shady Run Road, to support the soup kitchen and food pantry of St.Vincent dePaul and the charitable works of the Knights. Tickets are $20 per person and include a steak dinner with all the trimmings, beverage and dessert. Draft beers will be available. There also will be a basket auction and 50-50 raffle. Beaver Creek State Park will host a Trash and Treasure Sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at Pioneer Village, 12021 Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool. Vendors and sellers may rent a 10-by-12-foot outdoor space for $10. Take your own table and shelter. Unsold items must be removed the day of the sale. Preregistration is required. Send name, mailing address, phone number and a check to Friends of Beaver Creek State Park, P.O. Box 2063, East Liverpool, OH 43920. The sale of weapons and firearms is prohibited. Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, will have a No Trash, Just Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. A $2-per-bag sale will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima, is seeking vendors for its community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 (rain date is Sept. 22) in the church front yard on Route 164. To reserve a space call 330-482-4824 and leave a message with your name and phone number. A single space of 12-by-12 feet is $15, and a 12-by-24-foot place is $20. Vendors must supply their own tables. Proceeds will be used to take youths on a mission trip.

Immaculate Heart of Mary will have its annual Treasures in Your Trunk Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 15 in the church parking lot, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. The cost is $10 per space for early registration, and money must be received by Sept. 13. Any spaces available after the deadline will cost $15. No refunds. Take your own table up to 8 feet long to set up in front of your trunk. A used book sale will take place in the parish center at the same time. Junior Women’s League of Canfield is recruiting vendors for the 43rd annual Fall Market on the Canfield Village Green. This year’s event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 15. Menagerie Thrift and Gift Shoppe, 6037 E. Market St., Warren, is having a huge end-of-season sale of all spring and summer clothing for men, women and children for 50 cents per item. Otterbein United Methodist Church, 1128 State Road, Champion, is hosting a rummage sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. There will be a variety of old jewelry, household and craft items, books, antique crocks, a shoemaker’s last (used to fashion or repair shoes), pictures and many items for children. St. William Church is sponsoring a fall trunk sale from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in its parking lot, 5431 Mahoning Ave., Champion. Spaces are $15 in advance and $20 on sale day, if available. TNR of Warren is sponsoring a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Ponderosa Steakhouse parking lot, 3581 Elm Road NE, Warren. Spaces are available to rent for $15. TRIPS

Mahoning Valley Italian Society Inc. is sponsoring a trip to Meadows Casino on Sept. 10. The bus will load at 8:30 a.m. and leave at 9 from the back parking lot of St. Joseph the Provider, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. The return loading will be at 4 p.m., and the bus will leave by 4:15. The cost is $25 per person. The casino is giving $15 in free play and $5 for food. To make reservations call 330-755-7742 or 330-755-6976 as soon as possible. There will be no refunds. Seating is assigned as you pay. A valid ID will be needed for the trip. Those with a card for the casino should let organizers know.

Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. Youngstown Jewish Community Center is planning a bus trip to Playhouse Square in Cleveland to see the musical “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.” Price includes orchestra seat and transportation.
