Historic event on Monday draws ticket seekers today to Covelli Centre

YOUNGSTOWN

Bonnie Leaming of Austintown was first in line at the Covelli Centre to get a free ticket to see and hear President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton at a rally here Monday afternoon.

An Obama supporter, Leaming, 57, arriving at 7:30 a.m., was among a growing crowd of about 500 by 11 a.m. who gathered in a line winding around the building. She said she likes the president’s truthfulness and his record: “I feel he is somebody we can trust.”

The crowd, a mix of black and white, young and old and ages in between, lined up to get tickets for what many see as a historic event and a rare chance to be in the presence of a sitting president and former president at one time.

About 5,000 to 6,000 tickets will be available for the rally, the first time President Obama and Clinton have campaigned together since the Democratic National Convention, at the Covelli Centre, 229 E. Front St.

The snap by Bonnie Learning can be used in the dictionary for the listing of "lemmings."

It gets so old hearing about how unhappy people are just because their guy isn't in the White House. If you'd al like we could raise taxes back up to where they were under Bush and let insurance companies reject you for pre-existing conditions but I can't believe anyone really wants that.

That's right RK, no democrats are Doctors, Lawyers, Bankers etc., they're all unemployed lazy non-working bums according to your post. No one works shifts other than day turn. DwightK is truely correct in his statement about how unhappy and childish some act just because their guy isn't in the White House. I guess you think it's great for insurance companies to reject people with pre-existing conditions and drop clients after they become ill. I guess you love seeing the banks deregulated so they can play the derivatives game and foreclose on peoples homes. I guess you think GM would be better off CLOSED. I guess you think we would be better off if BIN LADEN were still ALIVE. I guess it must be AWFUL to be as MISERABLE as you are.

IslamndMike Where do you get off saying that GM would be closed? You must be one of the many who think getting everything for free is okay. Well you should take ( more like 8 hrs to read it or more) a minute out of your valuable time and read the bill for OBCARE , because you are about to get a prostate exam like no other when BO (Blame Others shoves his tax plan up your behind to pay for it. Then we will see who is crying foul!

How many times did Bill Clinton come to Youngstown when he was President? When they find it necessary to come to Youngstown a week before the election, they must see something in the numbers they don't like.

IslandMike. I love how the only legs you have to stand on with Obama is how Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive. Give it a break already. Maybe Clinton could bring Monica with him. I love how Biden stays in the background. The Dems are afraid of what he might say.

People stand in line all the time for concerts. Longer than 5 hours. And stupid people stand in line all night before Thanksgiving sales. Just wondering...has Romney been here? I know Ryan washed some clean pans, but that's it.

Delphi,

Screwing the working guy over is what the GOP has ALWAYS been about. Lowering the minimum wage, right to work states, union busting, so you should be happy that they're BOTH sticking it to you guys. CONGRATULATIONS!! Now can you please quit crying? You're embarrassing.

RK...and you had time to troll around and watch people in line? And nascar (tells me much) - Biden was here a few times. Romney was here when? How about Bush? Bush showed up at the airport ONLY and met with McKelvey. And Cheney? Now, getting back to Ryan...where did he appear? Ooops..I remember now. And again..Romney is scheduled when?
