WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Cost is $7. No reservations are necessary. For takeouts or to order ahead call the church at 330-743-3175.

THURSDAY

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will serve all-you-can-eat fried fish, chicken or shrimp dinners from 3 to 7 p.m. Each meal is $8.50 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and free for those 3 and under. Meals with a fish sandwich are $5.50. For carryouts call 330-654-5630. A Halloween party is planned from 7 to 11 p.m. with live entertainment.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. A limited supply of frozen pirogi will be available. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

East Side Crime Watch, 1001 Oak St. (corner of Oak and Fruit streets), Youngstown, is serving dinners of fish for $7 each or chicken wingdings for $6.50 each from 11:30 a.m. until food runs out. The meals include macaroni and cheese, string beans, potato salad and dessert; pop will be available for 50 cents a can.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 Friday at 330-746-9528, and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 for a baker’s dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday; walk-in orders will be available.

SATURDAY

Braceville United Methodist Church, 577 Park Road SW, Newton Falls, will have a stuffed pork chop dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or until the food is gone. Cost is $9 for adults and $3.50 for children. Takeouts are available. A bake sale and craft table will be available. Call 330-898-5607 for information.

Concord Presbyterian Church, 10013 Salem-Warren Road, Salem, will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 5 to 12; kids under 5 eat free.

Gustavus Federated Church, 8850 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Farmdale, will have a bazaar and turkey dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Carryouts will be available. The country store inside the church will open at 1 p.m. For information call the church at 330-876-3471.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. Donations are requested. For information call the church at 330-549-2333.

St. Michael Social Hall, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, will be the location for Passion for Pink breast cancer awareness spaghetti dinner from 1 to 6 p.m. sponsored by Team EBE Cost is $10, dine-in or carryout. There will be guest speakers. Donations will be accepted.

SUNDAY

Bessemer-Mohawk Rotary Club will host a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mohawk High School cafeteria, 385 Mohawk School Road, New Castle, Pa. Adults eat for $8, and children’s meals are $4. Tickets will be available at the door.

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, will have a stuffed cabbage dinner from noon to 4 p.m. at the parish hall. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for 12 and under. Takeout is available. Take your own containers. For information call 330-755-9819.

St. Patrick Church, 1410 Oak Hill Ave., will be the site of a spaghetti dinner fundraiser sponsored by Friends of Transit from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 10. The event will raise funds for advertising for Western Reserve Transit Authority tax levy renewal. There also will be a basket auction and 50-50 raffle. Takeout will be available.

Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St., will be the location for a spaghetti dinner hosted by the Cy-Me Men’s Club from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the church hall. Adult tickets cost $7, and children’s meals are $4.50. Containers will be provided.

TAKING ORDERS

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima, is taking orders for homemade apple dumplings. To place your order, call 330-549-5106 or the church at 330-549-2588 and leave your name, quantity wanted, if you want them baked or unbaked, and your phone number. Orders will be confirmed. The cost is $2.95 per dumpling. Pickup is from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. A portion of the profits is used for missions.

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, is taking orders for homemade haluski from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Pickup is from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the church hall. Cost is $5 a quart. Call 330-755-0036 or 330-755-4141.

Church Hill United Methodist Church, 189 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Liberty, is taking orders for homemade chicken noodle soup until Nov. 2 at 330-539-6260. The cost for a quart of the soup with a mini loaf of homemade bread is $6.50. Pickup will be between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 3. Go to the door at the parking lot facing Belmont Avenue.

Happy Hearts Jr. Croatian Tamburitzans is taking orders for apple and cheese strudels until Nov. 14. Strudels are $8 each and are frozen and come with baking instructions. Pickup will be Nov. 20 at the Croatian Home, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown. Call Windi Kresic 330-980-9384.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will have a takeout-only stuffed cabbage sale. Cost is $15 per dozen and $7.50 per half-dozen. Lydia Circle of Girard First United Methodist Church is taking orders for individual ham loaves until Nov 6. The cost is $2 per loaf, and pickup is from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 12. Call the church office at 330-545-4361.

Salem Saxon Club, 1980 Newgarden Road, is taking orders for German/Saxon rope sausage in 3- or 5-pound portions of plain, garlic or hot; the cost is $3 per pound. Deadline to order is Tuesday; call 330-332-9810, or 330-337-8940. Pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 3. At that time, lunch also will be available and includes sausage sandwiches, pastries, doughnuts and beverages.

St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, is taking orders for poppyseed and apricot kolachi for $11 each, and nut and nut with raisin kolachi for $12 each. Youngstown American Hungarian Club is taking orders for stuffed cabbage. Cost is $13 for a dozen. Take your own container to save $1.25 each. To order call 330-792-5124. Today is the deadline; pickup will be Friday and Saturday between 1 and 3 p.m. at the club house, 2219 Donald Ave.

UPCOMING

Berlin-Ellsworth Ruritan will serve a family-style all-you-can-eat Swiss steak supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at Western Reserve High School, 13850 W. Akron-Canfield Road, Berlin Center. The cost is $9.50 in advance and $10 at the door. Children 4 to 10 can eat for $5, and those 3 and under eat free. There will be a homemade baking contest prior to the dinner. Tickets may be purchased from any Ruritan member or at Denny’s Auto Supply, 6999 S. Pricetown Road, Berlin Center, or call Denny Furman at 330-547-4027 for tickets or to enter the baking contest.

First Presbyterian Church, 22 Westview Ave., Hubbard, will sponsor its annual beef stew dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 4. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 6 and younger. For tickets call the church office at 330-534-9721. There also will be a free concert at 1:30 p.m. featuring the Seraphim Chorus.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, will have a fish fry fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in the fellowship hall. Adult tickets are $8 in advance or $8.75 at the door. Meals for children 6 to 12 cost $3.95; those under 6 eat free. Takeouts will be available. Tickets will available at the church after worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday or 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through Oct. 31. Ohltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Road, Austintown, will host its annual turkey dinner and bake sale Nov. 10 with seatings at 4, 5:15, and 6 p.m. The cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12, and free for kids 5 and under. Carryouts will be available. Reservations will be accepted from Monday through Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. by calling 330-469-6571.
