3 killed in Ohio murder-suicide

Published: Tue, October 23, 2012 @ 1:36 p.m.

LANCASTER, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in central Ohio say three people — including an off-duty police officer — were killed in a murder-suicide shooting overnight.

Police in Lancaster, southeast of Columbus, said in a statement that 38-year-old Stephanie Adams and 56-year-old Randy Bartow were found inside the home early today and pronounced dead at the scene. Police said 40-year-old Kevin Adams was found alive but died shortly afterward at a hospital.

All had been shot at Stephanie Adams’ residence, but police have not released details. The police statement said Kevin and Stephanie Adams were divorced in May.

Multiple media outlets reported today that Bartow, who lived in nearby Logan, was an off-duty Lancaster police officer, but the department has yet to confirm it.
