TheNewsOutlet.org is hosting a "Free the Files" event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 in DeBartolo Hall on the Youngstown State University campus to reveal information about who is buying political ads and how much they are spending.
Volunteers will be asked to look through information and key in relevant data about the political advertisement spending of various candidates. Volunteers do not need to have any special training. We will serve pizza and soda.
The project is an extension of a national ProPublica project by the same name.
The NewsOutlet is a journalism cooperative of YSU and local professional media, including The Vindicator.

Like I have said, that's the one thing that bothers me most about Mandel. In my area all his ads have been produced by out of state PACS. I have yet to hear him talk, say what he's about, what his stands are, nothing. Just attack ads by out of state PACS.
