YMCA considers expanding into western Mahoning County

The YMCA of Youngstown is considering expanding services and programs to the western part of Mahoning County.

Residents of Austintown, Canfield, Ellsworth Township, Jackson Township and Mineral Ridge are being asked to fill out an online survey, which takes about five to seven minutes to complete.

The YMCA will use the information it gathers about membership, programming and priority needs to help determine the feasibility of an expansion, according to the organization’s website.

The survey is at http://surveymonkey.com/s/8TBLWPQ and will be available until Nov. 2.

The Boardman Y is filthy. Quit going there a few years ago because of the smell and filth.

I have to agree about the Boardman Y, they need to maintain what they have before expanding

When ever you let families with small children take over, they feel that they do not need to clean up after their brood. This is why older adults have moved on. I went there once with a friend and it reminded me of a water park, where it becomes the bath of the day. Dirty towels everywhere and no continous cleaning staff to be found. It that is what your are going to bring to the west side of the county. NO THANKS
