COLUMBUS (AP) — Gov. John Kasich has announced the process he’ll follow for replacing retiring state Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Lundberg Stratton.
The Republican governor has said he’d like a replacement by year’s end but will take whatever time is needed.
Kasich said today he’ll accept applications from lawyers interested in the job starting Monday through Nov. 16.
Kasich also named a panel of legal professionals to help evaluate candidates, including Case Western Reserve law professor Jonathan Adler, retired Stark County judge Charles Brown and Franklin County Auditor Clarence Mingo.
Justice Stratton announced her retirement in May with two years left on her term, saying she plans to help disabled veterans caught up in the criminal justice system.
