Boy, 10, charged in blaze at retirement home

REEDERS, Pa. (AP) — A 10-year-old boy has been charged with arson in connection with a fire at a retirement home in northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Pocono Record of Stroudsburg reports the boy is being held at the Lehigh County Detention Center, pending further court action. His name has not been released.

The fire started at the Hillcrest assisted living home in Jackson Township just after noon Monday. Residents were evacuated, but no injuries were reported.

Investigators say the blaze was limited to an unoccupied unit.
