ACTION meeting to focus on policies and priorities


YOUNGSTOWN

ACTION, the faith-based community organizing group, will have a public meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave.

Organized under the theme “Fire of Faith,” the meeting will give community members an opportunity to speak with public officials and candidates and discuss which policies and priorities are consistent with their faith values.

Co-hosts are the Rev. Edward P. Noga, pastor of St. Patrick, and Rev. Dwayne Heard, president of ACTION and pastor of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church.

Invited guests include U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th; state Sen. Joe Schiavoni of Boardman, D-33rd; Dr. Connie Hathorn, superintendent of Youngstown schools; city Police Chief Rod Foley; and DeMaine Kitchen, city chief of staff.
