Teen to return to school after Romney T-shirt flap
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A 16-year-old high school sophomore in Philadelphia who says she was ridiculed by her geometry teacher for wearing a Mitt Romney T-shirt is set to return to school today.
Samantha Pawlucy hasn’t been back to Charles Carroll High School since last week. That’s when she and her family say she was mocked by her teacher for wearing the shirt supporting the Republican presidential candidate. She says the teacher called others in to the room to laugh at her.
Her father, Richard Pawlucy, says the family met with Mayor Michael Nutter on Sunday night to discuss a resolution. He says he, his wife and their attorney also met with the teacher and another school employee on Monday.
The teacher has apologized and the superintendent has called the ordeal a “teachable moment.”

So the kid expressed her 1st Amentment Right by wearing the t-shirt and that's ok, but when people expressed theirs by commenting or laughing, that was NOT ok. Got it.
I hope this ends up in a lawsuit. People just don't sue enough anymore.
The INTOLERANT LEFT bullying a little kid, who would have guessed.This so called Teacher should be fired.
Island; you are right; that girl and her family should sue for being ridaculed at school. Maybe the teacher could wear a Obama re-election shirt. No one should ridacule any person for their views or beliefs We are a nation of tolerance.
Teacher Unions bow to our Great Leader.

I think you missed island mike's point. He thinks the teacher has a right to taunt this child. He thinks it is the Teachers right to use their position of authority to humiliate this child.That is what's so screwed up with the INTOLERANT LEFT.Read some of islandmikes post's and you will see how screwed up the INTOLERANT LEFT can be.
I guess the teacher loses her 1st Amendment Rights since she's a government employee. As for 'bullying' the kid, I NEVER saw that in the article.
@IsandIdiot
But you did see how to flag a comment you didn't care for as "offensive" and have it removed. You are quite the intolerant little baby. And not much smarter.
