Youngstown Steel Heritage Foundation Annual Banquet will be Thursday in the ballroom at the new Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center, 324 W. Federal St., opposite the DeYor Performing Arts Center.
A social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and the dinner will follow at 7.
David Tod, descendant of the well-known Tod family and Tod Manufacturing Co., will be honored with the foundation’s award for industrial leadership. Honorable Harry Meshel, who secured funding for the Youngstown Historical Center for Industry and Labor, will speak about the importance of steel in Mahoning Valley history. A buffet dinner will follow.
Rick Rowlands, foundation director, will unveil details about the Tod Engine Project future plans. Richard S. Scarsella, president of the William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society, will chair the event.
Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are available for $25 and include dinner, social hour and entertainment.
