Parliament ousts Libyan premier

Libya’s parliament ousted the country’s new prime minister in a no-confidence vote Sunday, the latest blow to hopes that political factions could agree on a government charged with restoring stability after last year’s civil war.

Mustafa Abushagur was the first prime minister to be elected after the 2011 overthrow of Moammar Gadhafi.

Dragon capsule on way to space station

A commercial cargo ship rocketed into orbit Sunday in pursuit of the International Space Station, the first of a dozen supply runs under a mega-contract with NASA.

It was the second launch of a Dragon capsule to the orbiting lab by the California-based SpaceX company. The first was last spring.

This time the spacecraft carried 1,000 pounds of key science experiments and other precious gear. There also was a personal touch: chocolate-vanilla swirl ice cream tucked in a freezer for the three station residents.

Union: Agents fired on each other

The U.S. Border Patrol agent killed last week in a shooting in southern Arizona apparently opened fire on two fellow agents thinking they were armed smugglers and was killed when they returned fire, the head of the Border Patrol agents’ union said Sunday.

The two sets of agents approached an area where a sensor had been activated early Tuesday from different directions and encountered each other in an area of heavy brush, National Border Patrol Council president George McCubbin said.
