NJ Gov. Christie pokes fun at YSU Penguins at site of today’s big football game

FARGO, N.D.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie took aim Saturday morning at North Dakota’s Democratic Senate candidate, her brother and Youngstown State University, today’s homecoming opponent of the No. 1- ranked North Dakota State football team.
Christie’s appearance in Fargo was billed by state Republicans as a “victory rally” for all candidates, but he focused on the Senate race between Republican Rick Berg and Democrat Heidi Heitkamp.
Christie said it’s a close contest, but Berg is up for the challenge.
The governor also chided Fargo talk show host Joel Heitkamp, Heidi’s brother. Christie drew loud cheers when he said he didn’t “give a damn” what Heitkamp thought of him.
Christie's 20-minute speech also included a jab at Youngstown State University, NDSU's opponent Saturday afternoon in a matchup of top-ranked Football Championship Subdivision teams at the Fargodome. Both teams carried undefeated season records into the game.
"Come on, you guys are the Bison. They're the Penguins," Christie said to a roar. "Mercy, man, mercy. Mercy on the Penguins, for goodness sakes."
Christie also has a campaign appearance for Romney in the Mahoning Valley on Tuesday. Details of the event have not been announced yet.

I am not sure comparing a bison to a penguin in foorball terms is "poking fun". That is all that the story divulges so I that is what we have to work with.
Seems like one of the pulitzer journalists at the AP was creating news again. That's what they teach them in the universities.
Anyway, go YSU. That's what really matters. Keep that awesome season rolling. There is something right and comforting about a YSU football team in contention in the fall.
Christie shouldn't poke fun at anybody. Has he looked in the mirror lately?
And your a HOG Christie!
Someone should bring that fat pig a couple of racks of Staples' ribs. Hopefully he chokes on one.
What does that fat porker know about sports? Remember this slob bad mouthed his state troopers cut their pay went after his teachers and any other group he could. But porky pig didn't cut his own pay and benefits. Typical repuglicans slob. You people planning to vote for Romney are going to be in for a real nightmare. So be careful what you wish for.
Otto, stewie badeepster, and gdog all displaying more fine examples of the "civil discourse" of the political left.
THAT is poking fun at YSU Penguins???? Looks like the media is trying to stir up the base.
Thank you Jerry for those fine words.
Christie said: “Come on, you guys are the Bison. They’re the Penguins, and I'm a Cow with bad teeth.”
Considering he's coming to Youngstown next week, this was probably not a good thing to say.

Isn't it amazing how the vulgar, ignorant loudmouths here are also the dumbest? Good job Tyler.
NJ has a lot of blighted areas and is filled with crime. Don't pigs live in pigsties? Paterson is run far worse than either Youngstown or Warren. Camden is worse than Detroit. Newark is ghetto, and filled with drugs and prostitutes.
NJ has rest areas without facilities and huge piles of garbage under many highway overpasses. The effect of outlawing self-service gasoline has been to reduce investment in modern fueling facilities. The average gas station in the Jersey City area is a 1960s or 1970s model. A high percentage of structures and almost the entire road network would be considered obsolete by modern midwestern standards.
Christie can take back to filthy Jersey the successfully developed apolitical strategy of demolition and blight abatement. There's enough demo work needed there to lower his state's obscenely high unemployment rate.
