The Mahoning County Bar Association has rated two incumbent judges seeking re-election Nov. 6 as highly qualified, but dismissed their challengers as not qualified.
Based on a poll of its membership, the association declared Judge Mary DeGenaro of the 7th District Court of Appeals highly qualified, but rated her challenger, Atty. Mark A. Hanni as not qualified.
In a county court race, the association said Judge Scott D. Hunter is highly qualified, but his challenger, Atty. Heidi Hanni, is not qualified.
In judicial contests, the lawyers belonging to the bar association evaluate each candidate’s legal knowledge, professional experience, temperament, integrity, diligence and professional responsibility, the association said Friday in a news release.

Congratulations to the Mahoning County Bar Association
This should appear on the front page of the Vindicator
The thought that any Hanni could rise to the judge position is utterly sickening!!!
Both have expressed a disdain for common sense and civility.
Mark has preferred to settle his disputes with his fists many times .
Heidi prefers car keys to ruin an ex husbands car.
Thankfully the message will get out that neither of these individuals poses the qualities that should be exhibited by a judge
But wait a minute, their name is HANNI ! I recall that their father was eulogized not long ago in such a way that you would think he was the Pope!!!
HULKSTER
You are obviously on the payroll or smoking some of the same stuff Art supplies them
The Hannis are attorneys for the people and the people will support them at the polls.
To know a Hanni is to HATE A HANNI
The democratic voters will vote for whomever they are instructed to vote for. look how well it has worked in the valley for the last 50-60 years!
Well look at most of the local elections. The Republican Party doesn't even bother with running a candidate for a lot of the offices.
"Mark prefers to settle disputes with his fists."
What do you mean by this? Do you have examples, or are you just making things up?
I can't speak for Heidi, but Mark is a very hard worker and is definitely qualified for the position. This is just typical political bs.
Anyone that thinks Mark Hanni is qualified to be a judge needs to go back and look at his YSU transcripts and his 2.0 GPA
You'll find that the only way he got into law school was because Cafaro family bribed the law school
Another important fact is, who took the bar exam in his name?
The Hanni name is still a power to be reckoned with in the City.
