A Lowellville police sergeant who was placed on paid administrative leave is now back on the job.

Sgt. Jason Goist was placed on administrative leave after being served with a protection order Sept. 24. The order was filed by his wife, Danielle, after a domestic dispute at their Struthers home Sept. 18.

Lowellville Mayor Jim Iudiciani said he had to put Goist on leave because he was not allowed to carry a gun while the protection order was in effect.

Goist also filed for a protection order against his wife Sept. 25.

At a hearing Monday in Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court, both orders were dismissed.

No criminal charges were ever filed in the case.
