The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will present the fourth annual “Boccie of Hope” in conjunction with 2012 Youngstown State University homecoming festivities. The event is part of the Game of Hope series that the foundation features throughout the year.
The event is slated for 5 p.m. Oct. 22 at Cassese’s MVR, 410 N. Walnut St. Part of the proceeds from food and drink go to the cause.
Community leaders will serve as celebrity bartenders. They include Felix Wright, a former Cleveland Browns player; Deana Shane-Housteau, Amazing Race-Season 7; Chet Cooper of YSU faculty; Frank Frattaroli of Belleria Pizza & Italian Restaurant; Robert Hagan, state Rep. 60th District of Ohio; and Ron Gerberry, state Rep. 59th District of Ohio.
Teams are being formed. Registration fee is $20 per person or $7 per person for YSU students with a valid ID.
Maximum number of people per team is eight. Mixes allowed. Prices include all nonalcoholic beverages.
The winning team will receive four tickets to the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns game Nov. 25. Other prizes will be given.
