Missing Harrison County children found in Liberty

Published: Wed, November 21, 2012 @ 12:08 a.m.

Staff report

Two children were recovered in the township a few hours after they were reported missing Monday.

Police said a missing 2-year-old and 3-year-old from Harrison County were found during a routine traffic stop early Tuesday.

Police said Christy L. Feher, 27, of Cadiz, Ohio, took the children from a Walmart in Harrison County about 10:30 p.m. Monday. Feher was then pulled over for driving erratically near Belmont and Darlington avenues in Liberty about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday.

The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office said Feher had accompanied the children and their mother while buying diapers Monday. Officers said the mother went in to get diapers and returned 20 to 30 minutes later and found Feher had left with her two children.

When township police pulled Feher over, they said she seemed confused and admitted having mental-health issues. According to reports, the children were sleeping in the back seat, but both appeared neglected with heavily soiled diapers. Police said both children were taken to ValleyCare Northside Medical Center for examination.

Feher faces two counts of child endangerment.

First of all let's get this story straight. The children involved in this case are 2year old twins, not a 2year old and 3year.Second of all,The mother of the children Ashley Mattews is a herion addict. Mattews and Feher are best friends not strangers to one another. On Monday evening Mattews had asked Feher to give her and her boyfriend a ride to Steubenville to get their fix(herion) being the unfit mother that Mattews is , brought her 2 year old twins along. While Feher had dropped off Mattews and her boyfriend to get their supply,Feher had taken the twins to a near by McDonalds to get something to eat, with feher not being familiar with the area when leaving McDonalds she had gone the wrong way,When feher had realized she couldnt remember how to get back to where she had dropped Mattews and her boyfriend off, she had just decided to head back towards cadiz. While trying to get on the highway Feher had taken the wrong exit, instead of heading towards cadiz it had lead her on the highway towards Youngstown. In the meantime Mattews had started to wonder about why Feher hadn't returned to pick her and her boyfriend back up, she decided to get a ride back home from an (unidentified) person, more then likely the person she had been purchasing her herion from. Mattews upon returning home decided she should probably contact authorities, with knowing she couldn't tell the cops the truth about where she had been when Feher didn't return to get her.Mattews had made up the story about her and Feher shopping at St.clairsville Wal-mart to get diapers for the twins. While authorities starting questioning Mattews they starting to realize that something just didn't make sense. After reviewing security footage at the St.clairsville wal-mart authorities have said there is NO footage of Mattews or Feher ever being in there. It's ashame Feher even put herself in that situation to take a friend to get drugs, she should of been a better friend and said NO. Now while Feher sits in jail waiting to go to court next week due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, I hope this will all get resolved so Feher can move on with her life and the News stations will quit making Feher out to be a KIDNAPPER and CRIMINAL that she's NOT.I hope Mattews get's jail time for lying to authorities and for making Feher have to go through this while Feher is already being treated for depression before any of this took place. And Hopefully Mattews can be treated for her herion addiction so that her children don't ever have to deal with this again.
