Valley churches plan special services for Thanksgiving.

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., Boardman: The Boardman community will gather for an interfaith Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Sunday. Sean Fyock will speak on Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County. He got involved when his church, St. Charles Borromeo, helped build a house. An offering will be taken to support Habitat’s work.

Canfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St., Canfield: A communitywide celebration of Thanksgiving is planned at 3 p.m. Sunday as part of the Stained Glass Concert series. Performing will be Youngstown Symphony String Orchestra and Canfield Presbyterian choir. The event is free. Refreshments will follow.

Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick-Campbell Road, Hubbard: Hubbard Christians in Action will sponsor a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge: The Mineral Ridge ecumenical community Thanksgiving service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor Jamie Milton will preach and other clergy will participate. Refreshments will follow.

Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., Girard: A community Thanksgiving service is set at 7 p.m. Tuesday with a sermon by Monsignor John Zuraw, St. Rose Church passtor. An ecumenical choir will be led by Jim Antell.

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown: A Thanksgiving service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

St. John Lutheran Church, 13422 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg: A community Thanksgiving service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Girard: A Thanksgiving Day eve service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with Minister Ric Schumacher speaking.
