FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

TODAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal consists of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. Cost is $7. No reservations are necessary. For takeouts or to order ahead call the church at 330-743-3175.

THURSDAY

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will serve a beef tips and noodles dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The menu consists of sirloin Angus beef tips, noodles, mixed vegetables, roll with butter and a cookie. Cost is $7 and will be takeout only. Drive up to back door and order, and food will be brought to your car. For information call the church at 330-758-3143 or call 330-501-2104.

FRIDAY

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. A limited supply of frozen pirogi will be available. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available. There will be no sales Nov. 23.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 Friday at 330-746-9528, and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday. No sales Nov. 23.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., will sell Brier Hill pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling 330-746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome. No sales Nov. 23.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday; walk-in orders will be available. No sales Nov. 23.

SATURDAY

Braceville United Methodist Church, 577 Park Road SW, Newton Falls, will host a stuffed pork chop dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or until gone. The meal consists of mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread, coffee, tea or punch. Cost is $9 for adults and $3.50 for children. Takeouts are available.

Southington American Legion, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, will serve Swiss steak dinners from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The menu consists of Swiss steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, vegetable, drinks and dessert. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Takeouts are available.

SUNDAY

Fowler Fire Department, 3386 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will host its monthly pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $5 for seniors, $6 for adults, $4 for children and free for 5 and under.

VFW Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will be the location of a homestyle breakfast sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.

Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will host a pork and kraut dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $8.75 for adults and $5 for kids. The meal includes dessert and coffee, tea or pop. Takeouts are available.

TAKING ORDERS

St. John’s Orthodox Church, 301 Struthers-Liberty Road, Campbell, will be taking orders for Christmas kolachi until Nov. 23. Apricot, cheese, lekvar, nut and poppyseed varieties are available for $10 each. To order call 330-757-8835 or 330-757-1677.

UPCOMING

Calvary United Methodist Church of North Lima, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have a free Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 22 that will include turkey, stuffing, mashed and sweet potatoes, relish tray, rolls and butter, pie and drink. Serving times are 11 a.m., 11:45 and 12:30 p.m. Call the church office 330-549-2588 to make reservations by Monday.

A listing of food sales and dinners is published Wednesday. Please submit information for takeout and sit-down dinners to the Society Department before noon Monday.
