BOARDMAN

Police continue to investigate a Saturday evening armed robbery at Family Dollar, 4028 South Ave.

Two men about 19, one each with a gun and a large knife, wearing black clothing, hoods and ski masks entered the store about 8:45 p.m.

The man with the knife walked around a counter and demanded an employee open the safe, according to a report.

The gunman demanded one of the workers open the register and threatened to kill her if she didn’t hurry, then he took an undisclosed amount of money from the register and several packs of cigarettes from a nearby cigarette case.

The man with the knife took an undisclosed sum of money from the safe before both men fled after having ordered the workers to the floor and warning them not to notify police.
