Butech president is ‘Citizen of the Year’
Jock Buta, executive vice president of Butech Bliss, has been chosen as the 2012 “Outstanding Citizen of the Year” and will be honored Friday during the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce’s 66th annual dinner.
Buta has served his community in numerous ways and is recognized for his business acumen and for his service to the community. He devotes an enormous amount of time to many of the area’s nonprofit and service organizations.
Buta was chosen as this year’s recipient because of his unwavering commitment to many tasks, and for his tireless work and dedication to excellence.
The company builds rolling mills, coil-processing equipment, extrusion/ forging machinery and custom applications.
Fred Martin Ford presents “Go Further with Ford Night” from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The event is a fundraiser to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, engaging consumers in the final “Random Acts of Fusion” adventure and offering them a chance to see the all-new 2013 Ford Fusion in person.
Belleria Warren LLC, at 3511 Youngstown Road SE, is having a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. today. The Warren pizza shop and restaurant is under original family ownership.
The Walmart store at 1300 Doral Drive is having a grand opening for its renovation and expansion at 7 a.m. Wednesday. At the event, the Boardman High School choir will sing and students from Robinwood Lane Middle School will perform.

Lane Family Funeral Homes has opened a new location at 8387 Tod Ave.
The Anstrom Chapel offers personalized video tributes for each service, a computer condolence center, and a reception center capable of seating 150 people.
Lane will host an open house at its new facility from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Guests can take tours and they will have a chance to enter drawings for prizes that include a 55-inch flat-screen television, two Apple iPad minis and a $1,000 gift certificate to Baird Brothers Sawmill in Canfield.
